Maya Island Air, Belize’s oldest commercial airline, announced this week that it is extending its service to include daily commercial flights to Cancún, San Pedro Sula, Honduras and Guatemala City beginning July 8. The airline will be using three ATR 72 aircrafts with a great reputation for sturdiness and reliability, and will be operating the overseas routes in association with Swift Air, a Spanish provider, which will be supplying the pilots, and other trained personnel including air hostesses. The flight to Cancún is a 45 minute hop both ways, the flight to San Pedro Sula will take 40 minutes and the flight to Guatemala City will take 55 minutes.
