 Belize City, Belize – August 26th, 2009 - By Notice published in the Government Gazette Extraordinary dated 25th August 2009, the Government of Belize as the majority shareholder of Belize Telemedia Limited appointed a new board of directors for the company.On the evening of Tuesday the 25th August 2009 the new board of directors held its first meeting. Before the meeting commenced, the board met with the Heads of Department of the company and assured each department leader that normal operations would continue. It was a cordial and harmonious meeting and the board looks forward to a good working relationship, with much success for the company and its employees. Due to lateness of the hour, the board could not meet with officers of the Telecommunications Workers Union, but expressed its intentions to have such a meeting as soon as possible. The general public is hereby assured that the day to day operations of Telemedia will continue as normal and the Company will remain focused on providing customers with optimum telecommunication services. The board of directors will endeavour to keep the public up to date on matters concerning the company.
