Ginny Ophof and I come from Holland via Portugal and the USA.

What is your activity right now?

Free lance work in marketing, translations and event planning.

Tell us why you choose to move to Belize?

My Mother has been living here for the past 20 years and I wanted to spend more time with her.

How long have you been in Belize?

2 years now, not counting my bi-annual vacation visits.

What do you miss the most, if anything?

Good Food AND Good Wine!!!

Did Belize brings you any surprises? Which ones?

Not really because I had been coming here regularly over the years, so I felt I had a good grasp of it's cultural, climate and all that it has to offer. I also saw the infrastructural growth picking up faster and faster over the years.

Any advices to give to the readers?

Learn creole or Spanish, it certainly helps to stop being treated like a tourist....and better get used to the rice and beans :) Black beans are a very rich source of protein, iron and many other things !!
